The North Dome has been one of the areas in Yosemite that has garnered the most attention over the years. Weed in particular began this interest, even if he was never given credit for many of his photographs.

Verna Johnston was very interested in preserving the native wildlife within the San Joaquin Valley, and focused a lot on Yosemite's wildlife as well. She made a pamphlet like this one speaking about many different types of birds especially.

Images like this one show life in Stockton in the late 1800s as it was becoming a more populated area. Many photographs were taken by Spooner, but were gathered together by Martin in his photography collections.

Martin gathered together many photos not only from the late 1800s, but from the 1950s too. This specific photo depicts the University of the Pacific in 1959 when it was still the College of the Pacific.

Spooner may have been Stockton's preeminent photographer in the late 1800s, but he didn't have his first actual photography parlor until 1878. Prior to this, he had an older studio that he opened in 1870.
