Back to Nature: In the 1960s

The focus on cities in California lasted a long while, documenting the growing city of Stockton, as well as the city of Sacramento. Soon the 1960s arrived and once again, some focus was given to Yosemite and nature in general.

Verna Johnston documented her time Yosemite, with a particular focus on both wildlife and nature in general. She returned the focus of photography to nature during the 1960s with her focus on Yosemite. Johnston did photograph other far off places like Alaska as well though, interested solely in the world around her rather than just location.
